The Goodland Police Department will be hosting a Police Citizens Academy. This academy aims to educate and increase the the public’s understanding of police policies and practices. This will not be death by PowerPoint, we will setup live training scenarios for hands-on participation! This is no cost for this event.

Things you can expect to learn:

• Police Officer Training and Expectations
• Traffic Laws and Enforcement
• Use of Force
• Taser, OC, Less Lethal Shotgun, and Baton
• K9 Unit (Also live demonstrations)
• Hands-on Mock Scenes and More!!

Who Can Attend: Anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Sherman County. All potential applicants will be subject to a background check.

When: Classes will be offered Every Other Thursday evening from 6PM to 8PM for a total of 8 sessions. Training begins July 11th, 2024 at 6PM
