Ordinance 1745 – Amending The Establishment for the Construction Board
ORDINANCE NO. 1745
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MEMBERSHIP REGULATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY BOARD AND AMENDING SECTION 1-981 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body finds value in establishing a Construction Board of
Trades and Board of Appeals; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has found that the pool of qualified applicants to serve on the Construction Board of Trades and Appeals would be enlarged by changing the residency requirement to Sherman County; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body determines that this ordinance is in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of Goodland.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:
Section 1. The following provisions of Section 1-981 of the Code of the City of Goodland, Kansas, are hereby amended to read as follows:
- There is hereby established the construction advisory board of trades and appeals (“CABT” or “board”) which will consist of seven members who shall be residents of Sherman County and have the following qualifications:
(2) One City of Goodland licensed general contractor;
(3)One City of Goodland licensed electrician;
(4) One City of Goodland licensed plumber;
(5) One City of Goodland licensed mechanic (HVAC);
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and publication once in the official city newspaper.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 21st day of March 2022, by the Governing Body of the City of Goodland, Kansas.
