ORDINANCE NO. 1594

            AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO FIRE PROTECTION AND PREVENTION OF THE CITYOF GOODLAND, KANSAS, AMENDING AND REPEALING SECTION 6-101 and 6-402 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND.

            BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:

SECTION 1. The following provisions of Section 6-101 of the Code of the City of Goodland, Kansas, are hereby amended to read as follows:

There is hereby established a Fire Department in the City, to consist of a Chief, Assistant Chief and not less than 12 nor more than 17 Firefighters, with the Fire Chief to be a fulltime city employee and with the Assistant Chief and Firefighters to be volunteers.

SECTION 2. The following provisions of Section 6-402 of the Code of the City of Goodland, Kansas, are hereby amended to read as follows:

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to fire, detonate or discharge any firecrackers or fireworks of any nature at any time within the limits of the City, unless an exhibition license has been obtained as provided for in section 6-403 of this article.

SECTION 3.  Section 6-101 and 6-402 of the Code of the City of Goodland is hereby amended and repealed.

SECTION 4.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication in the official newspaper of the City of Goodland, Kansas.
