BARRICADED SUSPECT ARRESTED

GOODLAND: On August 16, 2023, at approximately 5:50 pm, officers with the Goodland
Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Harrison. While on
scene, officers heard active shooting coming from inside the home and the suspect was refusing
commands by law enforcement to exit the home. Residents in the area were evacuated and the
area was secured to ensure public safety.

The situation was resolved at approximately 7:32 p.m. and resulted in the arrest of one
individual. There were no injuries to the suspect or law enforcement. The individual involved is
presumed innocent until proven guilty. No further information will be provided at this time.
