AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13-111 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS.

                WHEREAS, the City of Goodland established Sec. 13-111 Hours – in the Code and it states: The cemetery will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Any person who enters the cemetery, other than during the hours immediately hereinbefore set out shall be guilty of a trespass.

                WHEREAS, the Governing Body finds it is in the best interest of the City to amend the code from “8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.” to “sunrise to sunset”; and from “shall be guilty” to “may be guilty”.

            NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:  

                Section 1. Chapter 13 Article I Section 13-111 is hereby amended to read as follows:
The cemetery will be open from sunrise to sunset. Any person who enters the cemetery, other than during the hours immediately hereinbefore set out may be guilty of a trespass.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect after its publication in the Goodland Star News.
