Notice for Yards, Sight Triangles and Overgrown Trees
A friendly reminder that the Code Enforcement Officer is still continuing yard inspections and drive by’s. Letters to people with properties in violation of the code are still being mailed out as well. To avoid being sent to the mower and being charged extra by the City, please remember to take care of and mow your yards and properties. This includes alleys, sidewalks, along fences and weed eating when necessary. It is against City Code to let your yards/weeds/vegetation to get over 8 inches tall and it is healthiest for your yard to keep it around 2 inches in height.
For Sight Triangles & Trees: A triangular area at a street intersection in which nothing shall be erected, placed, planted, or allowed to grow in such a manner as to materially impede vision between a height of
2½ feet and 8 feet above the grades of the outside edges of the street surface or the edge of the
maintained surface of the road of the intersecting streets, measured from the point of intersection
of the back side of the curb or maintained surface, thirty feet in each direction.
*Over grown trees should be cut back to at least 10 ft. in height distance from the sidewalk/ground to the bottom branches.
Help keep the City of Goodland clean, beautiful and safe by doing your part in caring for your property/properties!
