Burn Ban in Effect
At the moment due to low humidity levels and dry conditions, no open burning that causes a spark or ember is allowed in the City limits of Goodland.
This means no outdoor burning of yard debris or wood burning of any kind. The only burning allowed outdoors during a burn ban is the usage of burners that don’t create a spark or ember such as propane and pellet grills or propane operated outdoor fireplaces/fire rings.
Please follow the City of Goodland for when the burn ban has been lifted, or call Sherman County Dispatch at 785-890-4575 and they will advise if it’s been lifted or not.
If you have any questions in regards to open burning in the City limits of Goodland and would like to obtain a burn permit for future controlled burns of yard debris, please contact:
Fire Chief Brian James at 785-890-4545.
