ORDINANCE NO. 1697

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SELF INSURANCE FUND FOR THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS, AND PROVIDING ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS IN RELATION THEREOF. 

            BE ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.   That there is hereby established a Self Insurance fund for the purpose of paying the group’s expected claim costs for health insurance under self insurance funding.

SECTION 2.   That such fund is funded by fund transfers from any fund of the City of Goodland from which benefits for employees are paid.  The transfers will be based on annual estimate of expected claims provided by insurance carrier. 

SECTION 3.   This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its adoption by the City Commission and publication in the official newspaper of the City of Goodland

PASSED AND APPROVED this 1^st day of August, 2016, by the Governing Body of the City of Goodland, Kansas.
