RESOLUTION NO. 1426
WHEREAS, the City of Goodland, Kansas has been informed by Cohen-Esrey Affordable Partners, LLC that a housing tax credit application will again be filed with the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation for the development of affordable rental housing to be located at W 11 th & Montana Streets, Goodland, Kansas in the property commonly known as the Grant Junior High School,
WHEREAS, this housing development will contain between 18 and 24 units depending on unit size and ability to locate units in part of the gym;
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to the elderly and workforce;
WHEREAS, the development will be an acquisition and historic rehabilitation of the school property for adaptive reuse as housing;
WHEREAS, the property will have the following amenities: Community space, storage space, safe room or area for protection against violent
weather, washer and dryer in each unit, green space, and adequate off-street parking
WHEREAS, the developer will request local assistance through the Neighborhood Revitalization Program for property tax rebates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Goodland Governing Body that we support and approve the development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject to city ordinances and the building permit process. This resolution is effective for a full year after the date signed below. In the event that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is null and void.
ADOPTED BY THE GOVERNING BODY AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR, this 6 th day of October 2014.
